Fruit cocktails.

Welcome back to BIS for 2012. The children have all reported that they had a fabulous Christmas and New Year and they seem relaxed and ready for the very busy Trimester ahead. We are already completely immersed in exciting teaching and learning opportunities with many fabulous experiences planned for the coming weeks. Already, children in Deborah and Richard’s English classes as well as students who attend Wednesday Clubs have had fun experimenting with fruit cocktails. They spoke about the different flavours that they like, those they have never tasted, which ones they think would mix well together and then portions that make up a fruit cocktail. They then wrote recipes and decided on a name for their drink before finally mixing, drinking and scoring their cocktails. The children were extremely engaged in the lesson and everybody had a lot of fun. This was active learning at its best.
